During the filming of the song “Aandipatti Kanava Kaathu” in the movie “Dharma Durai (2016)”, he arrived at the filming location ahead of the crew. While he was waiting for his crew, he smelled some Munnar workers in a nearby village cooking tamarind rice. He asked his driver to let the workers share some rice with him. When Seenu arrived, Vijay also shared some rice with him. Seenu also liked the rice and asked for more, and the workers agreed. That’s when Seenu decided to name him “Makkal Selvan”, which means Beloved of the People. Seenu even gave rupees after eating the rice. 500 to Vijay.
