Vicente Fernandez or Vicente Fernandez Gomez is a Mexican singer, film producer and actor. He was nicknamed “Chente” (short for Vicente), “El Charro de Huentitán” (Charro from Huentitán), “El Idol de México” (Idol of Mexico) and “El Rey de la Msica Ranchera” (King Ranchera) pull music).
Vicente Fernandez started his career as a busker and has since established himself as a cultural icon, recording over 50 albums and appearing in over 30 films. Rancheras and other Mexican standards make up most of his repertoire.
