Tejashwi Yadav is an Indian politician from Bihar. He was the youngest of nine children of Indian politician Lalu Yadav.

Tejashwi Yadav was born on Thursday 9th November 1989 (Age 32; as of 2021), in Gopalganj, Bihar. His full name is Tejashwi Prasad Yadav. His name is also Taron. His zodiac sign is Sagittarius. Tejashwi completed the first few years of his studies in Patna before moving on to Delhi for further studies. He studied at Delhi Public School in Hemant Vihar until grade 5 and then at RK Puram DPS until grade 8. Despite Tejashwi’s mediocre academic record, he has consistently led the way when it comes to sports and extracurricular activities. He was drawn to cricket at an early age. He was part of the school cricket team and represented the team in various competitions. Cricket enthusiast Tejashwi Yadav dropped out of school in ninth grade to start cricket full-time. He has since represented Delhi’s state cricket team in various competitions and played a Ranji Trophy season for Jharkhand. After failing to succeed in cricket, Tejashwi Yadav gave up the sport and decided to follow in his father’s footsteps into politics.

He has an older brother Tej Pratap Yadav (a statesman) and seven sisters, Misa Bharti (a statesman), Rohini Acharya, Chanda Singh, Ragini Yadav, Hema Yadav, Anushka Rao and Raj Laxmi.

cricket career
While playing for Delhi Under-19s, Tejashwi was signed by Delhi Daredevil ahead of IPL 2009. He was part of the Derry Daredevil team until four seasons from 2009 to 2012; however, in all four seasons in the IPL, he did not get a chance to play a single match.
He played several domestic cricket matches for Jharkhand in the 2009 Ranji Trophy, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and 2010 Vijay Hazare Trophy. In the seven domestic matches that Tejashwi played in throughout his cricketing career, he scored just 37 balls and scored a wicket. On 16 February 2010, Tejashwi played his last professional cricket match between Jharkhand and Tripura in Cuttack.
Political career
Politics could be his next possible stop after Tejashwi realised his chances of success in cricket were slim. He made his first public speech in 2010, campaigning for the RJD ahead of the 2010 Bihar Legislative Assembly elections. In the 2015 Bihar state assembly election, 26-year-old Tejashwi successfully campaigned and won his first voter in Raghopur constituency. His party, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), won 81 seats and formed a coalition with Janata Dal (United), which has a total of 70 seats. Tejashwi Yadav was sworn in as Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, following the formation of the RJD-JDU coalition government in Bihar in 2015.

In 2017, the CBI brought a “hotel land” fraud case against Tejashwi Yadav and his family, including father Lalu Yada and mother Rabri Devi. The case led to the collapse of the RJD-JDU coalition government in 2017 as JD(U) withdrew its support from the RJD and formed a new government with the BJP in Bihar. Tejashwi was Deputy CM of Bihar from November 2015 to July 2017. He accused the Central People’s Party government of playing vendetta politics and implicated his name in corruption cases dating back to 2004. In an interview, while discrediting the allegations against him, he said,
They brought their case against me in 2004. How could I be a criminal when I was 13 or 14 when I didn’t even have a mustache! “
At 27, Tejashwi Yadav became India’s youngest opposition leader. From 2017 to 2020, he continued to be the leader of the opposition party in the Bihar Legislative Assembly. In the 2020 Bihar parliamentary elections, Tejashwi Yadav won from Bihar’s Raghopur parliamentary seat by 38,000 votes. His party, the RJD, became the largest party in the state. However, the National Alliance for Democracy (NDA) retained power by gaining a majority.

- On New Year’s Eve 2008, Tejashwi Yadav and his brother Tej Pratap Yadav were allegedly beaten by some anonymous men for teasing a girl at a party in Delhi.
- On April 16, 2017, the Central Bureau of Investigation charged Tejashwi Yadav, Lalu Yadav and Rabri Yadav for handing over maintenance contracts for two IRCTC hotels to a private company. Charges against them include criminal conspiracy (120-B), deception (420) and corruption under the IPC. A Delhi court later granted bail for the three of them in the case.
- On October 5, 2020, an FIR was filed against Tejashwi Yadav, his brother Tej Pratap Yadav and four others accused of murdering former RJD leader Shakti Mallik.
- According to data shared by open data storage platform My Neta, Tejashwi has 11 criminal cases against him; however, he has not been convicted in any of them.

- During his tenure as minister of road construction in Bihar, Tejashwi launched a WhatsApp number through which the public could send their complaints about damage to local roads. According to the executive engineer who monitors WhatsApp messages, the number received 47,000 messages on WhatsApp, 44,000 of which were from girls who proposed to Tejashwi Yadav.
