Tauqeer Raza Khan is an Indian politician from Uttar Pradesh and the religious leader of the Sunni Muslim Barervi sect. He is the chairman of the Ittehad-e-Millat Committee of the political party he founded in 2001. He is the great-grandson of Ahmed Raza Khan, a pioneer of the Barelvi movement in South Asia in the 1870s and 1880s. Tauqeer Raza Khan resigned from the Uttar Pradesh Ministry of Handicrafts shortly after the Muzaffar Nagar riots in 2013. In 2016, he was criticized by his sect’s religious leaders for a visit to the town of Diobandi in Uttar Pradesh, home to another Muslim sect called Diobandi. He went to Deoband to unite the Muslims of the Bareilvi and Deobandi sects. The All India Muslim Personal Law Commission (Jaded) was founded by Tauqeer Raza Khan after breaking ties with the All India Muslim Personal Law Commission.

The Ittehad-e-Millat Committee is a political party in Uttar Pradesh, launched on 7 October 2001 by Tauqeer Raza Khan. In the first municipal elections, the party won 10 seats and 36,000 votes. Tauqeer Raza Khan’s party allied with the Indian National Congress in 2009, and Congress candidate Praveen Singh Aron won the general election by defeating BJP opponent Santosh Gangwar. He supported the Samai Wadi Party in the 2012 Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election. MLA Shahzil Islam from Tauqeer Raza Khan’s party won the election for the Bhojipura constituency. He won a large number of votes from the Muslim community. Tauqeer Raza Khan has been appointed as Deputy Chairman of Uttar Pradesh Handloom Company. While allied with the Samajwadi party, Tauqeer Raza Khan asked then Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav to set up a special committee to investigate the Muzaffar Nagar riots. Khan left the Samaywadi party in September 2014, saying his party would no longer support the Samaywadi party. In 2014, Tauqeer Raza Khan allied with the Bahujan Samaj Party.

Tauqeer Raza Khan founded an NGO called All India Muslim Personal Law Board (Jaded) (“Modern”) in February 2015 for Barelvi Muslims in India. He accused Deobandi board members of discrimination and formed a separate legal committee for Barelvi Muslims. In an interview with the media, Khan said that Barelvi Muslims feel suffocated under AIMPLB. He said,

- In 2007, Tauqeer Raza Khan caused controversy after he issued a fatwa against Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasrin. In the Fatwa, Taslima Nasrin was restricted from entering India and a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh was announced to anyone who beheaded Taslima Nasrin. Tauqeer Raza Khan told a news conference that Taslima Nasrin opposed Islamic practices and that she should leave India and burn her books. He said,

- In January 2022, Tauqeer Raza Khan asked for “martyr” status for the terrorist killed in the Batla House encounter on September 19, 2008. In an interview with the media, he said that in 2009, the Congress party promised he would investigate the matter. He said,
