Soon, he was appointed President of the HSRA unit in Punjab and began to deal with the revolutionary activities of the HSRA.
JP Sanders assassination

JP Saunders, assistant superintendent of the police station, killed Lala Lajpat Rai, a senior Indian freedom fighter. Killing Sanders was revenge for killing Lara Rajpat Rai.
Lahore Conspiracy
Sukhdev Thapar was involved in the Lahore Conspiracy (1929-1930) and was accused of killing several British police officers. Senior Superintendent Hamilton Harding has filed a flight intelligence report against 25 revolutionaries in the Lahore conspiracy. In the FIR, Sukhdev Thapar was ranked first, while Bhagat Singh was ranked 12th and Rajguru was ranked 20th. In April 1929, Special Magistrate RS Pandit took the case to court. While in prison, Sukhdev Thapar started a hunger strike, followed by other revolutionaries.
Central Legislative Council bombing
At one point, at the HSRA meeting in April 1929, it was decided to drop bombs at the Central Legislative Assembly to create panic among the British in Parliament. At this meeting of HSRA, Sukhdev was not present. Committee members decided that Bhagat Singh would not be allowed to carry out the plan because British police were already behind him in Saunders’ murder. HSRA does not want their best man to be arrested prematurely. Shiv Verma, who was serving a life sentence in Lahore Central Prison for the Lahore conspiracy, wrote his memoirs while in prison, saying in his book that Sukhdev returned three days later and that he was not convinced by HSRA’s decision. Satisfied because he wanted the best man of the Revolutionary Council to carry out the plan. He called Bhagat Singh a coward who was afraid of death and Bhagat told Sukhdev that he was insulting him. This led to a misunderstanding between the two. Shiv Verma wrote,
Three days later, Sukhdev came to oppose the decision. He is convinced that no one can convey the goals of HSRA like Bhagat. He went to Bhagat and called him a coward, a man who was afraid of death. The more Bhagat refuted Sukhdev, the harsher Sukhdev became. In the end, Bhagat told Sukhdev that he was insulting him. Sukhdev countered that he was simply doing his duty to his friend. Hearing this, Bhagat told Sukhdev not to talk to him and left. “

Everything is exposed, which is a good thing. For this reason, I consider my arrest lucky. “

In the courtroom of the Lahore Conspiracy Court, Lahore, constituted under Decree No. III of 1930: Royal Family – Plaintiffs and Sukhdev et al. “
die

Janata Newspaper Highlights
Shortly after the executions of HSRA members in the Central Assembly Hall bombing and the Lahore conspiracy, Dr BR Amebedkar published an article on the death penalty in his Janata newspaper in which he accused the British authorities in India of knowingly proceeding with executions The fact that Indians support revolutionary freedom fighters. Ambedkar further stated in the article that the punishments were a hard-line act by the Indian Labour Party to force the British authorities to implement such a draconian decision in order to impress the British Conservative Party. These executions are not acts of justice, but in order to gain public opinion in the UK, otherwise they may be expelled from the Conservative Party in the UK. The Gandhi-Irwin agreement was signed by India and Britain just weeks before Sukhdev and his companions were executed, and the executions shattered the British’s reputation and standing in the face of the Conservative Party. Later, the British government in India was incapable of punishing the accused police officers who executed Sukhdev Thapar and his companions, because the British Conservative Party would see India as a weak British Empire.
