Simranjeet was part of the Indian team at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, which were postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Simranpreet started his journey as a professional hockey player after being part of the Indian team at the 2014 Johor Sultan Cup, in which India beat England 2-1 to win the trophy. He then took part in the 2015 Breda Invitational U21 and the 2016 4 Nations Invitational (Valencia): Junior Men as part of the Indian team. He then played two 2018 4 Nation Invitational (M) matches with India, one in Hamilton and the other in Tauranga, with India winning both. Simranjeet was part of Team India at the 2018 Men’s Rabobank Hockey Championship in Brenda. India suffered a defeat in the final against Australia.

Simranjeet then participated in the 2018 Men’s Hockey Champions Cup in Brenda, The Netherlands from June 23 to July 1, 2018. India reached the final but lost 3-1 to Australia to take home a silver medal. He has also worked for Punjab and Sindh Bank and Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB). In total, he made 52 appearances for the Indian team. He is also a member of the Rachi Rays, one of the Indian Hockey League (HIL) teams. In HIL 2017, he was named Coal India Goal of the Match with Rs. 50,000.
