Shriya Sharma is a Bollywood actress who started her acting career as a child star and rose to fame with her role as Sneha Bajaj in StarPlus’ hit TV series Kasautii Zindagii Kay (2004-2005).

Shriya Sharma was born on Wednesday 9 April 1997 (23 years old; as of 2020) in Pahrumpur, Himachal Pradesh. Shriya went to Lokhandwala Foundation School (2003-2013) where she studied up to Grade 10, and then she attended RN Podar School CBSE (2013-2015) in Mumbai until Grade 12. She then studied LLB and LLB at Pravin Gandhi College from 2015 to 2020.

Shriya started working as an actor when she was four years old. Her debut feature was Lord Krishna on Zee TV’s show “Kanhaiya” in 2001. Her most prominent role was as a young Sneha Bajaj in “Kasautii Zindagii Kay”, for which she won many accolades.

Shriya appeared on StarPlus’ game show “Kya Aap Paanchvi Paas Se Tez Hain” in 2008, where she and four other students (Dheirya Sorecha, Anubhav Motilal, Siporna Ghosal and Milanjeet Singh) helped contestants win Rs 5 crore bonus. The show is hosted by Shah Rukh Khan, in which he often affectionately refers to Shriya as his “princess”.

Shriya has also appeared on many other shows including Boogie Woogie, Carry on Shekhar and Gumrah. In 2015, she appeared on the EPIC channel’s program “Tagel’s Story”. 
As of 2020, Shriya has 18 movies and many TV shows. She has created numerous advertisements for brands including Sunfeast Pasta, Whirlpool, Relaxo Footwear and Complan.

Shriya works primarily in South Indian films, with her debuts Jai Chiranjeeva (2005; Telugu), Sillunu Oru Kaadhal (2006; Tamil) and Soundarya (2007; Kannada). She is also seen as a child artist for other South Indian films such as Robo, Raccha, Tuneega Tuneega and Dookudu.

Her debut as a female lead was in the 2014 South Indian film Gayakudu directed by Kamal G. Shriya also starred in the movie “Nirmala Convent (2016)” with Roshan, the son of South Indian superstar Meka Srikanth. While the film wasn’t well received by audiences, Shilia’s performance earned her a lot of positive feedback.

Apart from South Indian films, Shria has also acted in Bollywood films such as “Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic” (with Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji), “Knock Out” (with the late Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan) and 2011 Year Bollywood movie ‘The Chill Party’.

In an interview, after she won a National Film Award for her role as Toothpaste in “Kira Party,” she said,
I’ve acted as a children’s entertainer in nearly 15 films so far, and over the past 13 years, I’ve acted in many other Tamil and Hindi TV commercials, but at some point, I’m not sure I Do you really want to be an actress. But then, in 2012, I won a national award for my role in the Chillar Party, which completely changed my life. That’s when I realized I had what it took to be an actor. “
