Shravan Kumar Rathod aka Shravan Rathod was born on Saturday 13th November 1984 (Age 66; as of 2020) in Mumbai, India. His zodiac sign is Scorpio. Shravan Rathod became interested in music because his father was a classical music master. Shravan began to practice under the guidance of his father from an early age.

Profession
Shravan made his musical debut as a composer in 1972 with another music composer, Nadeem Saifi, together they formed the iconic duo Nadeem-Shravan. The duo’s first composition was the song “Kashi hile, Patna hile” for the Bhojpuri film “Dangal” (1979). The song was sung by popular broadcast singer Manna Dey. In 1985, Nadeem-Shravan released his first commercial project “Ten Stars” with songs written by bansuri, sitar and shehnai. The songs on the album are sung by famous actors such as Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff. Nadeem and Shravan recorded their first indie song under Gulshan Kumar’s T-Series record label. Later, they made an entire album for the film Aashiqui directed by Mahesh Bhatt. Over the years, Nadeem-Shravan has composed music for several Hindi films such as Saajan (1991), Deewana (1992), Raja (1995), Raja Hindustani (1996), Raaz (2002) and many more. The two worked together on more than 150 films, but in 2005, they decided to part ways and Shravan focused on building his son’s career in the Hindi film industry.

On April 19, 2021, Shravan Rathod tested positive for the Covid-19 virus and was hospitalized in Mumbai. Tragically, he passed away on April 22, 2021 after suffering multiple organ failure and cardiac arrest. His son Sanjeev confirmed the news, saying –
My father tested positive after visiting Kumbh Mela in Haridwar. We never thought our family would go through such a difficult time, my father passed away, I was positive for Covid-19, and so was my mother. My brother also tested positive and quarantined at home, but since our father had passed away, he was allowed to do the final rites for our father,”
Facts/trivia
- Shravan is essentially a spiritual and religious person who practices meditation. He thinks it helps him be more productive.
- In an interview, Shravan said that his subconscious mind was always rhythmical to the music, and he wrote that piece. He said in the interview that because of this, the two have prepared more than a thousand songs over the years.

- In 1990, Nadeem-Shravan’s compositions faced a difficult time, as none of them became super hits. To make money, Shravan decided to start a ready-to-wear business called Composers Collection.
- The duo directed the music for the 2002 thriller Raaz. The music they created was even admired by British singer, musician, filmmaker and songwriter Sir Paul McCartney.
