After completing his studies, Shivjyoti entered the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) in New Delhi to study Global Trade Logistics and Supply Chain Management. She then studied business management at the Jagan Institute of Management in Rohini, Delhi. She has since obtained an MBA in Marketing from Maharshi Dayanand University in Rohtak. While in college, Shivjyoti was the favorite student of nearly every professor and earned the title of “Miss Mass” on her graduation day.

Shivjyoti started her career as a business development executive in 2013 at Head Field Solutions Private Limited, an employment agency in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. She worked there for about a year before joining Mudpie India Communications Private Limited in Gurgaon as an Account Executive. After changing jobs, Shivjyoti started working at the Industrial Bank of India in New Delhi as a relationship manager. When Shivjyoti was working in a bank, one day she accompanied a friend of hers to an audition for an advertisement. After arriving at the venue, she also decided to audition (just for fun). Apparently, the makers of the ad loved her performance and chose her for a TV commercial. She then advertised for many leading brands including Maybelline New York, Victoria’s Secret, Angel Josephine Skriver, Biba, Head and Shoulders, Dollar, Google Pixel, Samsung Gear Watch, Samsung Refrigerator and Harpic.
She has also appeared in print ads for brands like Titan Eye-Plus and Bikanervala. At the same time, she kept auditioning for movies.

To catch up, I took a week off from the production team to get up to speed by watching several Muslim-centric shows with characters speaking Urdu. It’s important to do this and get the show’s accent because that’s one of the main quintessence of Bebaakee. If I don’t get hold of Kainaat’s demeanor, it kills the vibe. Kainaat is both a Punjabi and a Muslim girl, so I had to strike the perfect balance between saying “Haanji papaji” and “Ammi”. Watching these shows helped me a lot! “
