Ram Prasad Bismil was an Indian freedom fighter who was involved in the Mainpuri conspiracy in 1918 and is best known as the mastermind behind the famous Kakori train robbery in 1925. Ram Prasad Bismil was born on Friday 11 June 1897 (30; at the time of death) in Shajahanpur, North West Province of British India. His zodiac sign is Gemini. As a child, Bismil was taught Hindi at home by his father and learned Urdu from the local moulvi. Later, he was sent to an English school called Mission School to further his studies and passed the eighth grade of the first grade. Meeting with Swami Somdev
18-year-old Bismir was in ninth grade when he was involved in the process of Indian independence when he learned that Bai Palmanand had been sentenced to death. Parmanand is a member of the group “Lala Har Dayal”, an Indian activist and freedom fighter. Bhai Parmanand was also a great Indian scholar and follower of the Arya Samaj movement. Swami Somdev is a friend of Bhai Parmanand. They both meet regularly at the Arya Samaj temple in Shah Jahanpur. In a fit of rage, Bismil wrote a Hindi poem called Mera Janm (My Birth) about Bhai Parmanand’s death sentence. Soon he presented his patriotic poetry to Swami Somdev. But Somdev’s advice doesn’t deviate from Bismil’s commitment to freedom in his homeland. Later, Swami Somdev suggested Bismil to participate in the Indian National Congress in 1916 after realizing the revolutionary flames in the center of Bismil.

In 1917, Ram Prasad Bismil gave up his studies and moved to Lucknow with his companions. During this time, Liberal leaders in Uttar Pradesh were protesting against Bal Gangadhar Tilak and its political march; however, moderate leaders struggled to greet their leaders in town. Ram Prasad Bismil, along with his master students, helped the Bal Gangadhar Tilak parade across the city. Since then, Ram Prasad Bismir has gained prominence for his revolutionary activities. He has been hiding in various locations in Uttar Pradesh such as Rampur Jagir or Jahangir village in Gautam Budh Nagar district, Greater Noida state, Kosma village in Mainpuri district, Bah and Pinahat in Agra district of Uttar Pradesh. During this period, he also visited his own village in Madhya Pradesh called Balbai Morena district. At home, he received some money from his mother. During this period he wrote several books called “Man Ki Lahar” – a collection of poems, Bolshevikon Ki Kartoot – a revolutionary novel, Yogik Sadhan – a yoga booklet, Catherine or Swadhinta Ki Devi – Catherine’s autobiography. Bolshevikon Ki Kartoot and Yogik Sadhan are books translated from Bengali to Hindi, while “Catherine” is translated from English. “Man Ki Lahar” is a set of poems he wrote. He translated several other patriotic books into Hindi and English. He mentioned in his autobiography that he used to graze his cattle while writing with a book and a pencil under the Babur tree.

Ram Prasad Bismil and his companions were freed in February 1920 for their involvement in the Mainpuri conspiracy. Bismil returned to his home Shahjahanpur. Ram Prasad’s official statement was recorded by the police and court. In the statement, he pledged not to take part in any revolutionary activities in the future. In 1921, Ram Prasad Bismir took an active part in the movement led by the Ahmedabad Congress. He was also invited as a senior leader to attend with senior Congress leader Prem Krishna Khanna and Revolutionary Ashfaqulla Khan. Bismil was one of the revolutionaries actively involved in supporting the “Poorna Swaraj” proposal passed by the Congress in 1921. Bismil played a key role in the congressional government with Maulana Hasrat Mohani. Initially, however, Mahatma Gandhi disapproved of the “Poorna Swaraj” proposal. Bismil returned to Shahjahanpur and persuaded young people in Uttar Pradesh to be hostile to the British government. In Banarsi Lal’s statement to the court on Ram Prasad Bismil, he said,

In February 1922, during the Chori Chora incident in Uttar Pradesh, several protesting peasants were dismissed by the police while participating in the non-cooperative movement led by Mahatma Gandhi. In response to the killing of farmers, 22 police officers were burned alive at the police station by an angry public. As a result, Mahatma Gandhi stopped the non-cooperation movement without establishing the actual facts behind the events. In the same year, Bismir and others strongly opposed Mahatma Gandhi and his immediate non-cooperation decision at the Gaya Conference of the Indian State. Later, when Gandhi refused to retract his decision on the non-cooperative movement, the chairman of the non-cooperative movement named Chitranjan Das resigned. Moti Lal Nehru and Chittranjan Das have led a new independent party with a group of wealthy freedom fighters. In 1923, Bismir and his revolutionary partners also established the Hindustan Republican Association. In the same year, Lala Har Dayal advised Ram Prasad Bismil to draft his own party constitution in 1923 with his companions Sachindra Nath Sanyal and Dr Jadugopal Mukherjee.
