Radhe Maa’s actual date of birth is not available, and different sources cite different dates of birth. According to a source, Radhe Maa was born on Sunday, April 4, 1965 (Age 56; as of 2021), and according to another source, she was born on Monday, March 3, 1969 (Age 52; same as 2021) in Dorangala, Guardaspur, Punjab. Her father Sardar Ajit Singh is the SDC of the Punjab Electricity Commission. When Radhe Maa was too young, her mother died. Radhe Maa has two brothers, Sukhbir Singh and Nirmal Singh.

At 17, she married Mohan Singh. Her husband runs a candy shop in Mukriya, Punjab. The couple have two sons, Harjinder Singh (Nishu) and Bhupender Singh (Bunty). Due to financial constraints, Radhe Maa’s husband moved to Doha, Qatar, to work in a construction company, while Radhe Maa stayed in Mukriya with her in-laws and two sons. Radhe Maa said in one of her interviews that both of her sons are industrialists.
She is reportedly in a relationship with Indian filmmaker Ranjit Sharma.
From Sukhvinder Kaur to Radhe Maa
During her childhood, she used to visit a Maa Kaali temple in the village, and according to some of her followers, she was inclined towards religion and spirituality from an early age. She came from a lower-middle-class family, and in order to support her family, she opened a tailor shop, “Babbu Tailor”, where she trained local women and girls in tailoring.
In 1986, her husband moved from Mukeria to work for a construction company in Doha. Radhe Maa has been insane since her husband went to Doha. She used to visit local temples for peace, where she met “Shri Mahan Ramdeen Das” at 1008 Paramhans Bagh Dera Mukerian in Hoshiarpur.
She received deeksha or spiritual training from him for almost six months and he gave her the name “Radhe Maa”. Soon she started organizing jagrans and chowkis in her village and nearby villages. According to several of her Baquettes, news of her miracles began to spread in villages near her hometown, and people from neighboring countries began to visit her for spiritual guidance. According to some of her local villagers, by this time she had learned black magic and began to practice it on people. At that time, she lived a simple life, wearing a white dress.
Many business families started calling her chowkis and jagrans in their homes. One of the businessmen was Arenanda, a residence in Pagwara, Punjab. In 2002, Nanda organized a jagran in his home under the name Radhe Maa. When Bajrang Dal and Shiv Sena activists learned that Radhe Maa was portraying himself as an avatar of a goddess, they protested in front of Arun Nanda’s house for nearly three hours and said Radhe Maa should publicly apologize for misleading people.
When the protests got out of control, Radhe Maa came out and apologized in front of the media, saying according to some sources that she was a normal person and that she was not the embodiment of any goddess.
After that incident she moved to Delhi but she continued her chowkis and jagrans in Haryana, Delhi and Punjab. Mumbai businessman Sanjeev Gupta noticed her at a party in Delhi and invited her to a jagran in Mumbai. Sanjeev Gupta is one of the owners of the famous Mumbai confectionary chain “MM Mithaiwala”.
According to Sanjeev Gupta, Radhe Maa prophesied something about him which turned out to be true, and since then he has become her bhakt. Later, he requested that Radhe Maa be permanently transferred to his residence in Mumbai.
Soon after moving to Mumbai, she began to gain popularity among wealthy families in Mumbai, and many prominent Indian politicians, businessmen and Bollywood celebrities became her followers.
Some Indian celebrities on Radhe Maa’s list of followers include Subhash Ghai, Ravi Kishan and Dolly Bindra (who later accused Radhe Maa of engaging in prohibited activities). Later, Radhe Maa became a brand ambassador for the “Global Advertising Agency” owned by Sanjeev Gupta.
It wasn’t until she settled down in Mumbai that she started dressing up like a newlywed North Indian bride. She started wearing a red dress, red chura (bridal bracelet), Trishul in hand, and heavy makeup.
She is always accompanied by two of her closest followers, Chhoti maa and Talli baba.

There are many controversies over her name, some of the most talked about are:
- In 2015, a woman named Nikki Gupta filed a lawsuit against her in-laws and Radhe Maa, demanding her dowry. Nikki revealed in an interview with reporters that Radhe Maa instigated her in-laws to ask her for a dowry. Nikki further stated that Radhe Maa had physically attacked her. Nikki Gupta says,
My husband and in-laws used to say I didn’t get enough jewelry and cash from my parents. “She also said she was tortured. Her lawyer, Kshitij Mehta, said the court did not take up the matter, while Senior Inspector M Powar of the Kandivali police station said it would be investigated.”
Later, the local police involved in the case removed Radema’s name from the complaint without Nikki’s consent. Nikki Gupta filed a dissenting opinion in the Bombay High Court. Radhe Maa said in her defence that she did not ask for any dowry and that the matter was between Nikki and her in-laws. Radma said,
I am pure and pious. The complainant is poor. If my daughter-in-law is a royal and I didn’t take anything, why should I take money from a poor man without food? ”
- In 2015, Dolly Bindra, an Indian TV actress who was a follower of Radhe Maa, filed a criminal complaint against Radhe Maa for sexual exploitation.
- In 2015, Radhe Maa was heavily criticised by one faction of society after some of her photos went viral on the internet and she was seen wearing a tiny mini dress. The controversy was reportedly sparked by a hacker named Santya Haxor who hacked Radhe Maa’s official website and uploaded several private photos of Radhe Maa.
- Another controversy was sparked by her photo in 2017, when she was seen sitting in the chair of Police Officer (SHO) Sanjay Sharma at the Vivek Vihar Police Station in New Delhi in a photo that went viral again on the internet; In the photo, SHO can be seen standing next to her, hands folded. He was later suspended.
- At one point, she was accused of abetting her sister-in-law to commit suicide. A man named “Shyam Sundar Das” accused Radhe Maa of murdering her own guru, and she took deeksha from her.
- She caused huge controversy when photos of her in short dresses, videos of her dancing to Bollywood songs and other offensive videos appeared in the media. In some of her videos, she can be seen sitting on the lap of a follower, with some Baquettes holding her in their arms. Later, she was even seen lashing out at media people during an interview related to her controversy.

- The Shri Radhe Guru Maa Charitable Trust in Mumbai was founded in Mumbai by the Singh family. The trust donates food and money to the poor, poor women and poor children.
