She is best known for her role as “Safar Khan” in the HBO miniseries “Night of the Night” (2016); “Menaka Vashist” in the Bollywood film “Delhi Belly” (2011); TV series “Big Little Lies” (2019) in ‘Katie Richmond’; ‘Dr. Nalini Vishwakumar in Netflix’s series I’ve Never Been (2020).

Poorna Jagannathan was born on Friday 22 December 1972 (Age 47; same as 2019) in Tunis, Tunisia. Her zodiac sign is Capricornus. She grew up in Pakistan, Ireland, India, Brazil and Argentina, where she did most of her studies. She also studied at Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, a school in New Delhi. She attended the University of Brasilia in Brazil and received her BA in Journalism and Theatre from the University of Maryland, College Park. She is pursuing an MFA at Pace University’s Actor’s Studio School of Drama. However, she dropped out after a year and continued to study acting from a teacher she met at university, Elizabeth Kemp.

Nirbhaya opened in the Town Hall during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2013. The show focuses on breaking the silence on sexual violence against women.
