Kelsey Carlson is an American journalist and anchor. She is currently a news anchor on KMSP-FOX 9 in Minneapolis and St. Paul. After college, Kelcey worked as a waitress and other odd jobs for 2 years. Kelcey finally landed her first journalism job at Freedom Broadcasting (WWMT-TV) in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She worked there for 5 years. In July 2003, Kelcey joined WRAL-TV as a weekend news anchor. She served as Lynda Loveland’s backup in 2009 as the weekday morning news anchor. After 10 years at WRAL, Kelcey joined the KMSP Fox 9 news team in January 2014 for an evening bulletin.
Kelcey has received numerous awards for her outstanding contributions to journalism. She even won the 2009 South Central Emmy Award for Best Weekend Newscast. Although Kelsey was a participant in the marathon, she was not directly affected by the bomb.

There, where she worked as a weekend producer, Kelcey quickly pitched several big stories within the first two months, such as the TWA Flight 800 crash and Hurricane Bertha and Fran. Later, she earned herself a job as a reporter and photographer for “One Band”.
There, she filmed and edited her own stories for the daily newscast. After leaving WBTW, Kelcey was hired by WWMT-Ch. 3 Located in Kalamazoo, Michigan. There, she was supposed to cover several big stories, such as the 2000 presidential election, the uncertainty in West Palm Beach, Florida, and the execution of Timothy McVeigh. While still in Kalamazoo, Kelsey began doing more investigative reporting, winning awards for her stories on the Sex Offenders Registry. Later, Kelsey was named the weekday morning anchor.
In 2014, Kelcey ventured north to Minnesota to work as an evening anchor on FOX 9. She received news of Prince’s death, and she became the first reporter to arrive at Paisley Park on the morning of Prince’s death. Kelsey covered FOX 9’s coverage of the day live and broadcast live after the Minnehaha College bombing. On FOX 9, Kelcey covered the Super Bowl in Houston and the Super Bowl in the Twins. She was also involved in breaking the news that PJ Fleck was hiring at the University of Minnesota.
