Kavya Madhavan family
Kavya married Nishal Chandra on February 9, 2009, after which she moved to Kuwait. However, she returned to China in June of the same year and filed for divorce on July 24, 2010.
Kavya and Nishal both appeared in court on May 25, 2011, and expressed their willingness to divorce each other. Divorced on May 30, 2011. She married actor Dileep on November 25, 2016 at the Vedanta Hotel in Kochi. The couple have a daughter, Mahalakshmi, who was born on October 19, 2018. It was Dileep’s eldest daughter Meenakshi who named her half-sister.

Kavia Madavan’s career
Kavya was born on September 19, 1984. She first appeared as a child actor in Kamal’s film Pookkalam Varavayi (1991) at the age of 7. She subsequently landed roles in other projects including P.Venu’s Pavam IA Ivachan (1994), Parassala Pachan Payyannur Paramu (1994) and Kamal-directed Azhakiya Ravanan (1996).
In 1999, she landed the lead role in Chandranudikkunna Dikhil, also starring Dileep.
Following the success of Chandranudikkunna Dikhil, Kavya Madhvan and Dileep became a popular duo in Malayalam movies, and they worked together for 18 films. Some of their films are Thenkasipattanam (2000), Darling Darling (2000), Meesa Madhavan (2002), one of the top grossing films of the year, directed by Lal Jose, Mizhi Randilum (2003), in which she played a double role , Sadanandante Samayam (2003), Thilakkam (2003) directed by Jayaraj, Runway (2004) directed by Joshiy, Kochi Rajavu (2005), Lion (2006) directed by Joshiy again, Chakkara Muthu (2006), Inspector Garud (2007), Paappi Appacha (2010), Vellaripravinte Changathi (2011) and Pinneyum (2016). Most of their films are in the romantic comedy genre. She has also collaborated with Mammootty and Mohanlal, as well as several stars including Ee Pattanathil Bhootham, Christian Brothers and Chinatown.
She received critical acclaim for her role as Ganga in Perumazhakkalam, for which she won the 2004 Kerala Film Awards for Best Actress, as well as Ashwati in Gaddama for her role as a maid working in Saudi Arabia. The film is based on a story published by KU Iqbal on Bhashaposhini. The film was directed by her mentor Kamal, who won her second Kerala Film Awards for Best Actress in 2011.
She won Best Actress at Kerala Film Critics Awards 2011, Best Actress at Amrita-FEFKA Film Awards, Best Actress at 59th Southern Film Festival – Malayalam Films Award and the Thikkurissy Foundation Award for Best Actress. She was nominated for Best Actress at the National Film Awards but lost in the final round. She was part of big box stores like Christian Brothers and China Town in 2011 and was voted Malayalam Top Star (Women) 2011.
She has a supporting role in Naalu Pennungal in Adoor Gopalakrishnan.
Although she received many invitations from Tamil cinemas, she was very reluctant to act due to her busy schedule in Malayalam. Her first work was Kasi (2001), a remake of Vinayas Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njaanum. She went on to perform in En Mana Vaanil and Sadhu Miranda with moderate success.
She wrote the lyrics to the song “En Khalbillulloru Pennaanu” for the movie One Way Ticket. She sang her first film song for the Malayalam film Matinee (2012). She has appeared in many commercials, TV shows, stage performances and more.
