Jodie Lee-Ann Sweetin was born on January 19, 1982 in Los Angeles, California to Sam Sweetin and Janice Sweetin. Her parents were in prison when she was born, so she was soon adopted by her uncle Sam Sweeting and his wife.
Jodie Sweetin started dancing at the age of three, practicing ballet and tap. Sweeting met actor Matthew Morrison in high school and worked with him on a number of musical projects. Sweetin graduated from Los Alamitos High School in Los Alamitos, California in 1999. Sweeting went to Chapman University after graduating from high school.
