Harry Melling is an English actor who rose to the limelight by playing the role of Dudley Dursley for the first time in the Harry Potter films. He is also popular for his roles in the films The Ballad of Buster Scruggs (2018), The Old Guard (2020) and The Devil’s All the Time (2020). Harry Merlin (full name Harry Edward Merlin) was born on Monday 13 December 1989 (31 years old; as of 2020), in London, UK. He attended Hendon School and Mill Hill School in London. At the age of ten, he began his acting career in the Harry Potter series, in which he played the recurring role of Dudley Dursley. As a teenager, he joined the National Youth Theatre as a theatre artist. He later pursued acting courses at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA). He has since left the course halfway through to play the role of Swiss cheese in the theatrical production “The Brave Mother and Her Child” (2009).
