Dean Richards is an American journalist and television host. He works as a film and entertainment critic for WGN-TV, an affiliate of The CW in Chicago. Richards also hosts several popular entertainment shows on Chicago’s WGN-AM radio station. Since joining the station, he has won more than 30 local and national awards for programming and production.
Richards was dubbed the company’s “man with hats” in a front-page article in The New York Times. Unfortunately, in September 2007, Richards faced a cancer scare and had his thyroid removed. He has long supported Gilda’s Club, a cancer survivor support group founded by Gene Wilder.
