Aanjjan Srivastav is a popular Bollywood and theatre actor.He is best known for his role as ‘Srinivas Wagle’ in the popular Indian TV seriesWag Kidunya‘ (1988).

Aanjjan was born on Wednesday 2 June 1948 (71; same as 2019) in Kolkata (now Kolkata), West Bengal. His zodiac sign is Gemini. He has a B.Com and LLB from the University of Calcutta. After graduation, he worked at Allahabad Bank in Kolkata.
Family, Caste and Wife
Although he was born and raised in Kolkata, he belongs to Uttar Pradesh. His father “Mrityunjai Srivastav” was a banker in Allahabad Bank. His brother is a doctor. His sister ‘Reeta’ died at a very young age due to some lung disease. He is married to Madhu Srivastav and the couple have three children: twins (a girl and a boy) and a girl. The names of their children are Abhishek Srivastav, Noopur and Ranjana.

Profession
His father wanted him to join Allahabad Bank instead of acting. He joined the bank, but also moved on. During his college days, he had participated in Bengali dramas and performed for All India Radio. In 1967, he starred in various Bengali dramas including Neel Darpan, Kayakalp and Anwar.

In 1976, following the death of his sister, his father allowed him to try his luck in the Indian film industry. He joined the Indian People’s Theatre Association (IPTA) in Mumbai, after which he worked at the Prithvi Theatre. He had the opportunity to work in many popular Bollywood films including Gol Maal (1979), Saza-E-Maut (1981) and Ghulami (1985).

The TV series has given him recognition in the entertainment industry. He made his debut in Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi (1984) on DD National. One of his memorable TV series was Wagle Ki Duniya (1988–1990), which aired on DD national.

In 1991, his performance in the Hollywood film “Mississippi Marsala” was well received.
