Country-inspired playlists certainly provide a platform for the oft-discarded genre.
The musical director of the show is Andrea von ForsterIn an interview with Music Row, she said: “We have such a solid fan base who really love music. I always want to keep introducing everyone to new or local artists they know and love.
“We certainly don’t ignore major label artists. We love Chris Stapleton more than anyone else, but it’s great to be able to help up-and-coming people.”
Airtime on such a popular series is a huge deal for a country artist. He even made an in-person appearance when the Whisky Myers song came out in Season 1, and sales hit an all-time high.
Blackberry Smoke also featured eight of their songs in Season 2 of the series. The show helped Zach Bryan connect with producer Dave Cobb.
Other musicians in the series include Tyler Childers, Jason Isbell, Whitey Morgan And The 78’s, The Trishas, Lainey Wilson, The Steel Woods and the Turnpike Troubadours. Don’t forget Ryan Bingham, who plays Walker and sings in the series.

The show was created by Taylor Sheridan from Texas who knows a lot about Westerns. You might recognize Taylor’s work on “Sons of Anarchy” and “Hell or High Water,” which he made sure to feature country music as well.
