Will the Brooklyn Nets really get rid of Kyrie Irving?
As Kyrie Irving’s vaccination status continues to cloud the organization, the Brooklyn Nets have made a difficult decision. While undoubtedly a talented player, can the Nets really get rid of Kyrie Irving in the near future?
The Brooklyn Nets are one of the favorites heading into the new season.
However, Kyrie Irving’s vaccination status has left the organization and one of its star players at an impasse that looks unlikely to be resolved anytime soon.
Irving is not currently vaccinated against covid-19 and seems reluctant to get vaccinated.
Rules in New York City (and San Francisco) require home team players to have proof of vaccinations to play in arenas.
That means that if Kyrie remains unvaccinated, he could miss all of the Nets’ home games this season, including the playoffs.
Many have called for the Nets to trade Irving, including recently Say“Whoever owns the Brooklyn Nets, get him out of here.”

Kevin Durant could be key to Irving’s future in Brooklyn
Last week, New York City said Irving would be able to train at the Nets’ training facility, the HSS Training Center, rather than in actual games.
Needless to say, this is a very unfavorable preparation heading into the new season that could derail the Nets’ entire season.
As head coach Steve Nash said recently: “We recognize he’s not playing at home.
“We’re definitely going to play without him this year. So it just depends on when, where and how much.”
However, Kevin Durant, not Steve Nash, could hold all the cards for Kyrie’s future in Brooklyn.
Clearly, KD wants Kyrie to stay with the Nets, the two-time Finals MVP said Oct. 6.
“I want Kyrie to be a part of our team,” Durant told reporter.
Connecting with Kyrie was a big factor in Durant’s move to the Nets, and it’s clear that Durant envisioned a championship roster with Irving by his side.
That being said, things have changed quickly in the NBA, and even Durant may have to live without Kyrie if his status gets in the way.

Nets and KD willing to make ‘difficult decision’ on Kyrie
according to Adrian WojnarowskiKevin Durant, along with James Harden, team president Joe Tsai and general manager Sean Marks, will soon weigh Kyrie’s situation and make a collective decision.
In addition, Wojnarowski and ESPN’s Brian Windhorst have report Nets ‘willing to make’ despite outside supportTough decisions‘ For the good of the team, not Kyrie Irving.
Whether that means trading Irving remains to be seen, but it seems increasingly unlikely the Nets would be willing to let the point guard play only 50 percent of his games.
Carey at a career crossroads
The Nets clearly face a tough decision if Carey decides not to get the vaccine.
Irving is a great player, but for many, the Nets without him are still a title contender.
However, the final decision on how to do it will depend on ownership. If they think there’s no Nets title contender for Kyrie, they might conclude that Kyrie’s juice isn’t worth squeezing.

But where does this leave Kyrie?
The best solution for everyone involved is for Owen to get vaccinated.
However, despite the group’s early optimism, that looks less likely than ever.
A trade could be one possible outcome, with some suggesting Ben Simmons for Kyrie Irving.
Whether the Sixers are willing to trade one headache for another, though, is unclear.
Furthermore, according to Mark Stein And with Nick Wright of Fox Sports, “Some corners of the league also believe Irving will retire, or at least think it through, if Brooklyn suddenly trades him.”
No matter what happens, there will be major decisions on both sides.
But for the Nets, it’s clear that any decision will take the team into account, even if it means losing a player as talented as Kyrie.
