The fan-favorite character on CBS sitcom B Positive has been recast, and fans want to know what happened to Adriana’s original actress Rosa Salazar.
As we entered season two, fans were stunned by the cast change. Season 2 returns on October 14th with the role of Drew Dunbar’s girlfriend Adriana being recreated.
Drew’s girlfriend will look very different when she returns from Switzerland. As the original actress, Rosa Salazar has since left the show.

Why was Adriana rewritten as B positive?
it has been comfirmed Rosa Salazar, who played Adriana in season 1 of B Positive, won’t be returning for season 2 of the CBS sitcom. Currently, neither CBS nor Rosa have commented on why she left B Positive or why she recast Adriana.
Michelle Ortiz will take over Rosa Salazar as seen in the recently released photos from the Thursday, October 21 episode.
You may recognize Michelle from other series such as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Double Agent and MADtv, Mr. Mom, Tacoma FD and When Nature Calls.
What can we expect from Adriana in Season 2?
The episode in which she first appeared was called “Vermont, Switzerland, and Connecticut.” The episode’s official synopsis reads: “Gina and Eli’s relationship is tested by Gina’s new wealth. Also, Drew’s long-distance girlfriend, Adriana, visits him unexpectedly.”
Season 2 of B Positive is going in a completely different direction than the kidney transplant at the end of Season 1. The series now focuses on Annaleigh Ashford’s role as Gina, who is helping seniors at Valley Hills Assisted Living. This is where Drew’s former dialysis nurse, Gideon, was hired as a nursing supervisor.

What happened to Rosa Salazar?
Nothing happened during Rosa Salazar’s departure from Positive B, and she will continue to perform in various other shows. Because she has quite a career track record.
You might recognize her from her appearance in The Divergent Series: Insurgent in 2015 and her appearance in Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials the same year. She also appeared in Maze Runner: The Death Cure and the Netflix films The Kindergarten Teacher and Bird Box.
She is currently starring in the Amazon series Undone and another series she starred in on the CBS series Star Trek: Excursions, as USS Cabot’s Captain Lynne Lucero. Her episode was titled “Edward’s Trouble.”
Her most recent work, Seasons of Chariots and Weddings, is currently in post-production.
