Why Shiv and Tom’s succession relationship is full of red flags

popular HBO series, successionwhat proved good tv It should be like this. The series revolves around the dysfunctional Roy family, owners of media and entertainment group Waystar RoyCo. The cast is led by Brian Cox (X-Men 2), he plays the family patriarch Logan Roy, whose four children, Connor, are directed by Alan Rooker (Ferris Bueller’s day off), Kendall, played by Jeremy Strong (big short), Shiv, by Sarah Snook (beautiful lie), and Kieran Culkin as Roman (Scott Pilgrim vs The World), trying to relinquish control of the company while he was in poor health. Each episode can be compared to Forrest Gump’s Chocolate Box. We never know what will happen next. The witty one-word lines, catchy exchanges, and biting remarks can sometimes make you feel like you’re watching a great comedy skit show. In addition to that, the series introduces us to various characters that we have all loved over the years. Everyone has something new to bring to the table, and each of their storylines is as explosive as the next. The series has gone through quite a few divorces and breakups, but one couple whose marriage has managed to stay intact is Shiv and her husband Tom Wambsgans, portrayed by Matthew Macfadyen (pride and Prejudice). However, it’s not just what we see, we’re here to fix it all. Here are five reasons why Shiv and Tom’s relationship is full of red flags:
5. Commitment issues
Shiv and Tom have a history of public romance. Previous seasons of the show had Shiv dropping a bombshell on their wedding night because she surprised Tom when she told him she wanted their marriage to be public. We then see Shiv flirting and courting her political strategist colleague Nate Sofrelli, portrayed by Ashley Zukerman (code). The fact that Shiv isn’t ready to fully commit to Tom speaks volumes about their relationship. Commitment issues are complex and are best addressed early. Tom seemed to be more invested in their relationship from the start. This creates a lot of uncertainty and the potential for long-term and fruitful partnerships.
4. Have different priorities
At the beginning of the series, Shiv is seen pursuing different career paths in the world of politics. That all changed after she found an opportunity to work in the family business. Since then, she has been trying to get an executive position at Waystar RoyCo as she uses her charisma to gain Logan’s approval. There is nothing wrong with being a competent person. It’s just that Shiv seems to value her career and position in the company more than her role as Tom’s wife. Priority is always a good thing unless you’re last. Tom is on the receiving end of it all and seems to be taking a hit.
3. Communication issues
Tom is portrayed as a talkative man who has been trying to gradually become a full-fledged member of the Roy family. Unfortunately, the road ahead has been smooth sailing. He was involved in scandals in the group’s cruise division, but couldn’t fully share that with Shiv, who seemed less interested in talking about his findings. This proved to be bad for Tom as season 3 progressed. It’s a hassle when you can’t communicate openly with your significant other. Who else do you share your thoughts and opinions with? Shiv doesn’t seem to be interested in Tom’s story most of the time, which is very unfair to Tom, who goes to great lengths to be an important member of the Roy family.
2. Unaligned Family Program
A couple’s next big decision after getting married is usually a plan to start a family. Ideally, discuss this early in a relationship to find out if the two of you are in the same boat. Shiv and Tom’s relationship took another hit when they found out they were on opposite sides when it came to having children. Tom is going through a rough time in his life in season 3, and he wants a miniature version of me that I can look forward to. This was shot down by Shiv, who at this stage in her life doesn’t want anything to do with children. This planted seed will grow into a poisonous plant that, over time, can completely ruin a marriage.
1. Lack of empathy
Tom’s familiar cruise sector scandal puts him in a position of compromise that could even mean jail time. Tom comes up with all these scenarios about how he’s going to learn to live and survive in prison, and while Tom continues his aimless crankiness, Schiff walks away. This seemingly lack of empathy is a huge red flag in any relationship. Your partner should be someone with whom you can openly share your emotions and be intimate. Having an indifferent and unresponsive partner is a recipe for disaster. Emotions build up, and when it reaches a tipping point, it explodes.
