“Hip hip hooray”, or “hippy hip hooray”, is also sometimes spelled “hoorah”, “hurrah” or “hurray” (also related: “Huza”), an English cheer.

Personally, “hip hip hooray” is an interjection — an expression of a spontaneous feeling — although it may not be common for people to say it themselves.
This sentence is obviously reached a modern form In 1813, with the publication of Edmond Temple’s Life of Pill Garlick.

There are those, such as Jewish Telegraph Office (JTA), which allegedly traces the phrase’s anti-Semitic origins.
Ohr Somayach’s entry Ask the Rabbi part Include the following questions:
I’ve heard the expression, “Hee hee, hooray!” which has anti-Semitic roots. The reason given was that during the Holocaust in Europe and Russia, excited crowds would scream, “Hierosylma est Perdita”, Latin for “Jerusalem Lost”, later shortened to its acronym “hep” . Does it make sense?
The source of the Hep-Hep riots?
Rabbi responds by saying ‘long live the hip butt’ Do Has anti-Semitic ancestry.
During the Nazi regime, “thugs in Europe sometimes shouted ‘Hep! Hey! When looking for Jews.'” He also cites alleged Hep-Hep Riot as evidence.
The Hep-Hep riot took place in 1819, a massacre of Ashkenazi Jews that began in the Kingdom of Bavaria.
Or the German Shepherd’s phone?
However, the rabbi also admitted that despite “searching for years”, historian Robert Michael has been unable to find any authoritative source for the phrase.
Instead, Michael apparently said, “there are a lot of arguments from German historians who think it’s just a call to action for the goats.”
For its part, Colorado State University Inclusive Language Guidelines Point out that the Nazis used “hep hep” as a battle cry when searching for Jews in the ghetto.
They also assert that “hip-hip hooray” developed directly from “hep hep”.

pure paint (TSD) repeats other theories, but also criticizes them.
For example, someone claims that “hip hip hooray” is Hierusylema best perditaor “Jerusalem Lost”; however, the TSD admits that the German shepherds are unlikely to be Latin-speaking scholars.
The most plausible explanations for them are just the ordinary cheers of “hip hip hooray,” and “Hep! Humph!” have a common origin that goes back even further.
How does this relate to Cigna’s language guidance?
An investigative reporter for Washington Examiner Joe Gabriel Simonson wrote last week that insurance company Cigna rolled out an inclusive language program for its employees.
According to Simonson, the class took terms and phrases like “grandfather,” “brown bag lunch,” and “hooray hip-hop” and suggested more inclusive alternatives that were less offensive.
