Look at Yelena’s weird expression
Episode 18, titled “Sneak Attack,” aired on January 16, and one particular moment went viral for being unexpected and terrifying. Seriously, you have to see it with your own eyes.
The scene takes place during a battle between the Armored Titan, the Beast Titan and the Assault Titan.
The other soldiers were surprised by the appearance of Zek/Beast Titan, and they questioned why he was free while Levi was watching him. “What happened to Levi and Hange?” they asked.
“It looks like they were beaten by Zeke,” Yelena replied. “He promised to meet Alan at a certain time and place.”
Amin then jumps in and says, “We have no choice! Only Zeke and Alan can save the world! We must help the Jaegerists bring them together.”
Cue Yelena’s terrifying frowning face.
The soldiers spotted her reaction to the remark, and then Armin turned to be greeted with a witch-like look. A second later, she changed to a friendly expression and said, “Please help Zeke and Eren. I believe in you.”
Still, you can tell that Amin has been scarred throughout his life.
Why does Yelena look at Amin like that?
Reddit fans joked it was because Yelena was ‘crazy’, but some people audience Says Amin most likely said “We have no choice but to help the Jaegerists”.
In Season 4, Episode 16, he is seen crying after hearing about her euthanasia plan, which Yelena interprets as a sign of loyalty to her. However, his new “we have no choice” comment means disobedience to her plans.
So, we think Yelena’s immediate terrifying reaction was confusion and anger at Amin’s “betrayal”.
