The Eternals is now streaming on Disney+, so fans are scrambling to watch or rewatch the latest film in the series, complete with a cast. As with every Marvel movie, fans take to the forums to discuss their opinions, and the latest question is: Why did Ikaris kill Ajak?

Marvel’s Phase 4 is off to a strong start in 2021, with Black Widow kicking off in July and Spider-Man: No Way Home breaking records in December.
All four versions, including Shang Chi and The Eternals, landed 6 highest grossing movies 2021.
Best of all, three of them are now available to stream on Disney+ after the Eternals landed on January 12.
Directed by Chloe Zhao, the film stars Gemma Chan (Sersi), Richard Madden (Ikaris), Salma Hayek (Ajak), Angelina Jolie (Thena) and Don Lee (Gilgamesh).

Why did Ikaris kill Ajak?
After Ajak, Prime Eternal, Ikaris is considered the leader and the strongest Eternal. His purpose in life was to help initiate the emergence of Earth to give birth to the celestial body Tiamut The Communicator as Arishem intended.
This explains why Ikaris killed Ajak: she revealed to him that she was against Arishem’s plans, so he betrayed and killed her by feeding her deviants to prevent her from appearing. Her body was put back in the house, leading others to believe that the anomalous were responsible.
He initially recruited other Eternals to prepare for the appearance, until Celsi realized its consequences: the destruction of Earth.
Like the other Eternals, she insisted on fighting him despite their love for each other.
Jealous of Ikaris and Sersi’s relationship and feeling disadvantaged by her 12-year-old body, Sprite (Lia McHugh) takes Ikaris’s side and fights alongside him at the scene of his emergence at the foot of an active volcano in the Indian Ocean.
New Fans vs Old Fans Movie Reviews
Loyal Marvel fans who have seen the theaters still love the Eternals after their second viewing, one of fan List it as one of their top 5.
But new audiences have had mixed reactions, with many praising the film’s cutscenes and aesthetics but ultimately being disappointed by the plot and cast chemistry.
It has to be said that the sequel is clearly coming, so the setting is necessary, especially since there are so many heroes.
Some Harry Styles fans were especially excited to see him appear in the end credits as Thanos’ brother Eros. No, he’s not purple.

Doctor Strange, as it showcases the potential of witchcraft and different realities, and the Eternals, as this is the first time I’ve been shocked and horrified to see a celestial-like being “in action”

So very bad. I’m glad I didn’t see this in theaters. This is by far the worst script written for a Marvel movie. There is no chemistry between the actors. So many plot points. Not a good movie at all.
