The latest Netflix series for thriller fans is “The Girl in the Window and the Woman in the House Across the Street”. The suspenseful genre has seen many recent items added to the category, including Woman in the Window and Girl on the Train.
After watching The Woman in the House, fans wondered why there was always a handyman named Buell working in the mailbox. It seems a bit suspicious, after all, how much maintenance does a mailbox need.
Short episodes mostly air under 30 minutes, and “The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl Outside the Window” is certainly an easy show to binge. So, let’s take a look at why Buell looms in the background of all episodes.

Meet Buell from The Woman in the House
The local handyman who has been repairing Anna’s mailbox for years is named Bull. He’s actually played by Mindhunter star Cameron Britton.
Cameron Britton Born on June 6, 1986, which means he is 35 years old. He is an American actor best known for playing Ed Kemper in the Netflix crime drama television series Mindhunter. His stellar performance in this role earned him a 2018 Primetime Emmy nomination for Best Guest Actor in a Drama Series. Britton appeared in three episodes of Mindhunter’s first season in 2017.
You might also recognize him as Hazel from the Netflix series The Umbrella Academy. Many fans commented on how tall the actor is, and at 6ft 5in he is certainly sky-high.
The real reason Buell has been working on mailboxes
At the end of The Woman in the House, we find that Buell has been dealing with the mailbox because he has been living in Anna’s attic for many years.
Ana called her therapist (who eventually became her ex-husband Douglas) after seeing blood dripping from her attic. Anna then realized it was just painted. There, she notices a floor bed and things that don’t belong to her. Then she realized that it was Bill who had been living there. Douglas revealed that she was his first ever psychopath. After rehabilitating for him, she gave him a job, believing he had reformed.
Just then, Anna notices Bill walking across the street towards Neil’s house with a hammer. Anna starts to panic and goes to Neil’s house, but Bill looks as if he was stabbed to death. Neil died on the sofa when his daughter Emma revealed she was the murderer. who killed her father, mother, Lisa and Bill.
However, it turns out that Bull recovered, and after he was discharged from the hospital, he apologized to Anna for staying in her attic. He explained that when Douglas moved out, he did it to protect her, so Anna forgave him and allowed Bill to stay in the attic.
