Animal Kingdom Season 5 Episode 2 aired last night, and it includes more clips featuring a young Jenny “The Smurf” Cody. Who is the actress Laila George who played the young Smurfs?

Meet Leila George, aka the Young Smurf of the Animal Kingdom

Lyra George has played a younger version of Jenny “The Smurf” Cody in 15 episodes of Animal Kingdom so far.

She will also appear in next week’s episode, free ride (Season 5, Episode 3), season finale September 19, first episode Season 6it has no air date yet.

Smurf’s flashback “origin” story transports viewers back to the 1980s. The clip, featuring the young Smurfs, was well-received by fans of the show on Twitter.

One commenter said how good Laila George, who played young Jenny, Match with Ellen Barkin’s walk. Another wrote that the flashback was “perform“—though the latter was not generally optimistic, despite praising George’s character and performance.

Born in Sydney, Australia, actor and producer Vincent Donofrio (He played Private Leonard “Gormer Pyle Lawrence” in Full Metal Jacket and Edgar the Bug in Men in Black) and actress Greta Scalci (June Gudmundsdottir in Robert Altman’s The Player), Laila George grew up in Brighton, England.

Her parents divorced in 1993 after four years of marriage. In 2011, she went back to Australia Studied at Sydney Film School. A year later, she moved to New York City, Studied at Lee Strasberg Collegewhere her father taught master classes.

Laila George’s acting credits include Mom, can I sleep with danger? (2016), mortal engine (2018), child (2019) and long home (Unpublished). Even if things go downhill from here, it probably won’t worry her.

“If the whole show doesn’t work,” she told W Magazine In 2019, “I can always open a bakery”.

Is she married?

Laila George married Sean Penn on July 30, 2020. They have reportedly been “romanticly linked” peoplesince 2016, although they did have “on and off” experiences before getting married.

“Lyla has been in Sean’s life for a while,” People quoted an unnamed source as saying. “They got together and they broke up and Sean won over her.”

“He realised he had made a mistake and when he felt he might lose her, he worked hard to get her back.”

Laila George is 32 years younger than her husband Sean Penn.
