How did Zyra Gorecki become an amputee?
The 19-year-old lost a leg in a logging accident at the age of 13 and became interested in the entertainment industry because of the lack of representation in people who looked like her.
That explains why La Brea is such a big role for her: The show wanted an actual amputee to play the role of Izzy.
When it comes to the reception of people she meets, she clear “People strive to be good” and care about others, but that’s not always the case.
“I think people try to be good people, they try to care and understand others, but that’s not always the case.”
