Mikael Ymer beats Frances Tiafoe at Winston-Salem Open
Mikael Immel defeated No. 13 seed Francis Tiafoe this week at the Winston-Salem Open.
Immel, 22, currently ranked 90th in the ATP rankings, defeated the American 6-7, 6-2, 6-3 in the quarter-finals of the tournament.
The Winston-Salem Open is part of the 250 class at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Immel will now face Spaniard Carlos Alcares in the semi-final on Friday (August 27) night.
Mikael won their only meeting at the Australian Open earlier this year.

Where does tennis player Immel come from?
Mikael Wondwosen Ymer is a Swedish tennis player currently living in Stockholm.
Ymer was born on September 9, 1998 in Skala, Sweden. His nationality is Sweden.
The 22-year-old posted a career-high ATP singles world number 67 in March 2020.
He is the younger brother of tennis player Elias Immel.
Mikael reached the men’s singles final at Wimbledon 2015, but was beaten by American Riley Opel.

Who are Mikael Immel’s parents?
Mikael Ymer’s parents were born and raised in Ethiopia before moving to Sweden.
Ymer’s parents are Kalem and Wonderwosen.
Mikael’s mother, Kalem, is a doctor, while his father, Wondwosen, works for a dairy company.
His whole family, including his younger brother Raphael, who plays tennis on the junior tour, live in Stockholm.
“I’m playing for myself, I’m playing for my family, I’m playing for my country, but I also think I’m playing for the next generation,” Ymer told Reuters Adenosine triphosphate.
