From Jordan to Israel to Syria
Based on 1938 Book of the same name Agatha Christie’s recent adaptation of “Death Date” takes audiences to new locations.
Much of the action in the novel takes place in and around Petra in southern Jordan. While vacationing in Jerusalem, famed Belgian detective Hercule Poirot overhears a conversation that leads him to a new mystery.
Someone at the door came to get the size. Classic view of Erdale, Petra Monastery. The façade was carved by the Nabataeans in the 1st century, as seen in the background of the mountain. The façade is 50 meters wide and about 45 meters high.
Soon, he arrives at Petra, where the murder took place. However, for the 1988 film adaptation, the producers decided to set the filming location in Qumran, near the Red Sea.
On the other hand, the 2008 TV adaptation revolved around archaeological digs in Syria. Why did they choose a different location?

Since the production company responsible for the 1988 film adaptation is Israel, it makes sense for them to shoot in their home country. Yoram Globus and Menahem Golan are the main producers.

In 2008, the producer of the feature-length TV series Poirot (1989-2013) took over meet with death story. Guy Andrews wrote the screenplay and Ashley Pierce directed it.

It was shot exclusively at the Mahkama du Pacha, the administrative building in downtown Casablanca, depicted as the Hotel Constantine. Kasbah Boulaouane is located on the bend of the Oum Er-Rbia River, which provides a location for the excavation site.
Was Casablanca filmed in Casablanca?
Many manufacturers have choose Casablanca filming their film. However, the classic 1942 film “Casablanca”, no one of them. Instead, the entire movie (except for one scene) was shot at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California.
The only exception is the opening, where Heinrich Strasser flies over an airplane hangar. That hangar is in Los Angeles!
