WMAQ-Channel 5 morning news anchor Zoraida Sambolin has been missing from the NBC5 show since late May after she was away from television “to focus on her health and caring for her loved ones.” Concerned fans are asking, where is Zoraida Sambolin?

American media blogger Robert Feder wrote in an article blog post June 8, 2021 Zoraida Sambolin’s last broadcast was May 27.
Sambolin has been the face of NBC 5’s morning news since 2007, and began as a freelance weekend news anchor five years ago.

When did she come back?
After a nearly two-month hiatus, Sambolin returned to NBC Chicago in late January. She picks up where she left off on the morning news.

Her Instagram and Twitter followers celebrated the news and added welcome her back. She posted intermittently on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter in February, March and April.
Then when she posted about her June 30th daughter’s birthdayafter being inactive on social media and going off the air since the end of May, some commenters said they had missed her for a while.
Why didn’t she play?
