Who is Janelle Burrell?
Janelle Burrell is best known to Philly audiences as morning anchor On CBS Philly, also known as KYW-TV. Burrell is currently the anchor of Eyewitness News, This Morning and Noon Eyewitness News and has been a part of local television since then 2019.
Before joining KYW-TV, the anchor worked for WCBS, a New York-owned CBS-owned station. During her six years there, she also helped launch the station’s digital channel CBSN.
Elsewhere, Burrell is a Penn State alumnus, where she earned her bachelor’s degree. She is also a graduate of Columbia University’s School of Journalism, where she completed her master’s degree.

Where is Janelle Burrell?
Anchor Janelle Burrell is currently absent from her role on CBS Philly because she recently underwent surgery to “address some health issues.”
Burrell posts about her absence from the screen Instagram Earlier this month, her nearly 10,000 followers shared a photo of her in a hospital bed.
In the caption of the post, she assured concerned fans that her surgery was going well and thanked the “wonderful doctors and their medical team” for taking care of her.

When will she be back on screen?
The anchor has yet to confirm a date for her return, though address her absence On Instagram, she hinted that she would be “back in a few weeks.” So if Burrell doesn’t come back by Christmas, she’ll likely be back on screen in the new year.
Burrell has been positive after her health update Instagram Earlier this week, she shared a sweet memory of her childhood in Santa’s lap.
Following the comments, the anchor’s fans shared their best wishes as they wish her recovery went well. One wrote: “You are so cute. Praying for a speedy recovery.” While another added: “Love it. Get well soon.”
