F1: Where is Alex Jacques? Some of the key commentators on Channel 4’s Formula 1 coverage were absent from the Styrian Grand Prix today.
Jacques joins Channel 4’s F1 team in 2020
In 2020, Alex Jacques was announced as Channel 4’s lead commentator from 2021.
The appointment comes after Ben Edwards decided to step down from the position after four years.
In the past, Jacques F1 Official TV channels including F2, F3 and Esports.

Why did Jacques miss the Styrian Grand Prix?
Channel 4’s commentary team has tested positive for coronavirus.
That means three key members, including Jacques, will miss the game.
Former racing driver turned F1 pundit Billy Monger tested positive before the weekend.

Lead commentator Alex Jacques and lead host Steve Jones spent some time with Monger before the game.
Therefore, they are the result of self-isolation.
Munger, who will have to quarantine in Austria for ten days before returning to the UK, tweeted: “Since arriving here I have unfortunately tested positive for Covid-19.

I had to quarantine due to the near-problem of the coronavirus (note – I’ve had injections twice so feel confident) but hope to be released soon.

Who will replace them?
Ben Edwards will replace Jacques on the comment table, working remotely from the UK.
David Coulthard, who is based in Austria, will continue to serve as a joint commentator.
