Felix Auger-Aliassim suffered another straight-set loss on clay as he exited the first leg of the 2021 Madrid Open.
The Canadian star was beaten 1-6, 4-6 by compatriot Kasparude in the Spanish capital on Tuesday morning.

Auger-Aliassime has now lost four of his last six games – all four in straight sets.

How will Auger Aliassim deal with Real Madrid’s defeat?
The early months of 2021 promised a lot to Auger-Aliassime, but little has since been delivered.
The Canadian reached the final of the Murray River Open in Melbourne before dropping a set in the round of 16 at the Australian Open.
However, a two-set loss to Aslan Karatsev appeared to be a big blow to the world number 20, and he has yet to fully recover.

Madrid’s latest defeat leaves Og Aliassim with plenty to think about before the second half of the clay-court season.
At 20 years old, he is still a genius. But his 0-7 record in the final (losing all 14 sets) highlights a psychological problem that needs to be addressed soon.
Otherwise, he could be upstaged by young stars like Luther, Janick Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz.
