On September 17, 2021, the full trailer was released, which garnered over 2 million views in a day. While Joe and Love’s new life in the suburbs — with a baby — is a major topic online, other viewers have been talking nonstop about the song used in the trailer. What is the song in the You season 3 trailer?
As you may have recognized, the song used in the You season 3 trailer is a cover of Britney Spears’ ’90s classic Baby One More Time. But that’s not the Britney you hear in the trailer. The song used is a cover of Blu Holliday produced by J2. Specifically, it’s called “Hit Me Baby Again” (Epic Trailer Edition).
This song is taken from the iconic series, Vol. Fifth album released in 2017. The album, written by J2, features covers of popular hits such as Crazy In Love and Halo.
There is another cover of Baby One More Time on the album, called Epic Stripped Version.

Hit Me Baby One More Time (Epic Trailer Version) was composed by British musician and composer J2. His real name is Jay Singer. J2 is known for creating epic covers that are often used in trailers.
Some of J2’s work has appeared in films such as Alita: Battle Angel, Grey’s Anatomy, The Hunger Games and The Man in the High Castle. J2 is known for creating the cover of Johnny Cash’s Ain’t No Grave, which was used in the trailer for Django Unchained.
Not much is known about lead singer Blu Holiday, other than that she has worked on many projects with J2. She can be heard on more of J2’s iconic series of albums.
