A few days ago, photos of Bachelor contestant Rachael Kickconnell at the 2018 Old South “Pre-War Party” surfaced.
For those who don’t know the word, antebellum means “before the war,” but the word also has political connotations. It usually refers to the period before the American Civil War – namely the period of plantations and segregation.
although additional Host Rachel Lindsay described the photos as “not good looking,” Harrison countered. He asked: “Is it good in 2018 or bad in 2021?”
Harrison went on to say, “I’m not a cop who wakes up and there are a lot of people, a lot of people, who will do this for us.”
“The awake cops were there,” Harrison continued, “and this poor girl Rachel who was just thrown to the lion…I don’t know how you’re ready when you’ve never done it before.” , can be enough to wake up. “
“wake up the police” means
As a relatively new term, “woke” still has a broad and vague definition. However, it is increasingly being used as a synonym for social awareness, especially with regard to civil rights issues such as racism, sexism and transphobia.
Webster’s Dictionary Trace the word “woke” back to Erykah Badu’s 2008 song Master Teacher.
Later, in 2014, it gained popularity among the black community in America after Michael Brown was shot and killed in Ferguson, Missouri.
In recent years, critics of the movement have used the term “awakening the police” to undermine the social consciousness that underpins “awakening.”
For example, those who oppose awakening or awakeningism may use “awakening police” to accuse awakened people of being belligerent in their language “policing.”
