Former Arsenal striker and Sky Sports pundit Alan Smith has praised Emile Smith’s impact on Mikel Arteta.
inside Evening StandardSmith said Smith Rowe reminded him of a young Jack Wilshere.
He said he had a far better impact than Willian and Nicolas Pepe, and reserved sharp criticism for the club’s record signing.
Smith is expected to report £72m (BBC) The ex-Arsenal football director spent a lot of money on Pepe and said his body language wasn’t good enough.

Smith wrote: “Emile Smith Rowe…his creativity and touch at West Brom brings back memories of Jack Wilshere in charge of the play.”
“Let’s hope that the success, enthusiasm and hard work of young players can influence those around them, especially Willian and Nicolas Pepe – two figures who often show disinterest in the game.”
“We don’t actually know how good Pepe can get. Bought for a ridiculous price (well done, Raul Sanllehi, former Arsenal director of football), the winger has yet to prove he can replicate him Red and white state in Lille.
“Going further, you have to wonder, look at the body language, how much this lad wants to be successful.”

Smith is known for being a relatively moderate pundit and co-reviewer, but he doesn’t say it here.
Pepe’s transfer fee is not his fault. There’s nothing he can do about him being Arsenal’s record signing.
But he can control his body language, which would be a worrying sign if Smith saw it as a sign that he wasn’t determined enough to succeed at Arsenal.
Young is now showing the way for Mikel Arteta, while Pepe is still providing a conundrum.
