My real inspiration comes from my Mickey Sir (aka celebrity makeup artist Mickey Contractor). His work in film and magazines is so incredible that my will and desire to be like him only increased with every angle of his work. His creativity is unmatched because he has the most unique ideas. The day I joined him, he only told me one thing that he would stay with me for the rest of my life, and that was “focus”. What moved me even more was that I wanted to be like him, but of course he’s a living legend, and no one is like Mr. Mickey. His hard work and honesty about his work inspire me every day.
- When he was an assistant to Mickey’s contractor, Vardan and Mickey were both sitting in the dining room with notepads, and whenever a woman entered the restaurant, they would write down the basic makeup she was wearing, like foundation, undertones, etc. Later matches were evaluated. According to Vardan, it’s a great way to learn about makeup techniques and basics.

The most difficult is the three. The team is explaining everything and I’m working on Anushka Sharma’s look. I was shocked when they introduced curls, my only concern was that it shouldn’t overwhelm the look. So we added blue contact lenses. She was actually very tanned in the movie, I gave her four shades of darker shades, which framed the face nicely, but she looked fairer because of the lighting.
