Tony Cascarino predicts who will be higher: Arsenal or Tottenham

Tony Cascarino has praised the work Mikel Arteta has done at Arsenal following yesterday’s 4-2 win against United.
The victory came less than 24 hours after their north London rivals beat Manchester City 3-0 at the Etihad Stadium.
Manchester City are Arsenal’s next league rivals, so this game may provide some sort of barometer comparing the Gunners to Spurs.

“There is a lot to admire about the team Mikel Arteta has built at Arsenal,” he wrote. “Results are gradually improving, a style is emerging and young players like Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka are getting the chance to play their part in the game.
“Arsenal stick to their people, believe in his project and look like they are on the rise. In stark contrast to Tottenham, when the going gets tough they look both lacking in creativity and lack of creativity Plan B.
“Tottenham are now just two points ahead of their north London rivals and despite having a game in hand, I wouldn’t be surprised if Arsenal lead them this season. Arteta’s team is moving forward.
“It will be interesting to see who comes out on top when the two sides meet next month.”

Not so long ago, Spurs were being talked about as title contenders, while Arsenal were getting closer to the relegation zone.
This shows the contrasting fortunes of the two clubs since then.
Mourinho’s pragmatism is no longer in effect, while Arteta’s philosophy is brought to life by his belief in youth.
The next meeting between the two sides will be interesting, although given the nature of this frantic, upside-down season, even so, it may be too early to draw conclusions.
