The real reason Maya arrested Omar Navarro
A major development in the Ozark season 4 storyline complicates the Bird family’s plans. Agent Maya Miller apprehends Navarro. Just as he was leaving for Mexico, Maya handcuffed him. Navarro struck a deal with the FBI and it was believed Byrdes was finally free. Did you really think things would go so smoothly?
When Maya challenges her boss during a meeting with cartel leaders, we know she has a plan. She asked why they were making deals with people they were supposed to arrest. In her boss’s defense, he explained that if the Navarro cartel collapsed, it wouldn’t stop the war on drugs. So they believed that working with him could make some kind of progress.
Maya disagreed, so Navarro was arrested on the airstrip. In fact, Agent Miller was part of an insider deal between Omar Navarro and the FBI. However, she changed her mind at the last minute, causing confusion for the other characters.
That’s why she could have done it
Many thought it might have something to do with the way her boss and her superiors treated her. So, in a rebellion, she decides to break their deal. Others believe that she felt guilty for constantly ignoring the crimes committed by the Birds and ultimately stopped them.
Whatever the reason, Navarro’s arrest allowed the storyline to move in multiple directions, opening up countless possibilities for the second installment of the series finale.

Ozark Season 5 Quest
There will be no Ozark season 5. Netflix didn’t cancel the Ozarks, instead, the creators decided it was time to end the six-year series.
Jason Bateman explains it in an interview collider Said he didn’t want to compromise the quality and strength of the series. He said:
“If you keep walking longer, you go over cliffs or over hilltops and eventually you jump over sharks. So, given the wisdom of Marty Byrde and Wendy Byrde, if they keep going on this course longer, they Either get killed or go to jail.”
This explains in a roundabout way that the show needs to end in a strong way to do justice to the series as a whole: “The other option is to level the pitch so you don’t end up jumping over the shark, but then you’re Start stalling with additional episodes and seasons.”
