Euphoria’s Season 2 Episode 5 is an injection of drama from the opening sequence. This episode finds Rue isolating herself from almost everyone around her. She pushed Jules away, cut ties with Elliot, and betrayed Fez, Gia, and Lexi. Don’t forget her abuse of her mother.

Why does Rue keep yawning in Euphoria?
Rue has been yawning because she is currently experiencing withdrawal symptoms from opioids and other medications.Excessive yawning is a symptom drug withdrawal.
Her excessive yawning isn’t the only symptom she exhibits, her stomach apparently haunts her throughout the episode as well. Rue can be seen holding it in pain, curled up. Diarrhea, stomach pain, and vomiting are symptoms that often occur when opioids and other medications are discontinued.
We knew she was going through withdrawal issues because Fez pointed it out and Rue told Laurie of the pain she was feeling from the withdrawal. When Rue returned to Fez’s house, he invited her in and found that she was experiencing withdrawal symptoms. Rue tries to take medicine from Fez’s grandmother. Faith walked in and opened a pill bottle and led her out of the house.
Rue was previously hooked on oxycontin, and Laurie said she could help Rue’s withdrawal symptoms go away and give her some morphine. Rue had not injected opiates before, but Laurie shot her with morphine, insisting all drugs are safe.
Euphoria Season 2 Episode 5 Recap
The episode opens with Rue freaking out when she discovers that the suitcase full of drugs is missing. Before Jules aka Hunter Schaffer finally told her that they had told her mother everything and flushed the contents of the suitcase down the toilet, Rue went berserk.
Rue admitted she relapsed after she came out of rehab and it appeared her mother wanted to bring her back. Although Leslie, who drove to Rue thought it was the emergency room, said they were going back to recover. This caused Rue to run away and get out of the car as we followed her around town causing mayhem.
Euphoria returns with the sixth of eight episodes on HBO on Sunday, February 13 at 9 p.m. ET.
