Some Lesser Known Facts About Rishi Prabhakar
- Rishi Prabhakar was an Indian spiritualist and philosopher best known for developing Siddha Samadhi Yoga (SSY). His other courses include Kaya Kalpa Kriya (KKK), Rapid Comprehension and Review Techniques (RCRT), Bhava Samadhi Training (BST), Advanced Meditation Course (AMC), Infant Siddha Course (ISP) and Inspirational Leadership for Rural Development (ILRD) ) .
- Rishi was raised by his grandparents. He grew up without a father, a fact that he became familiar with when he was about 7 or 8 years old. At the same time, he also came to know that Rama Devi was his mother, not the sister he believed.
- As a child Prabhakar was smart, obedient, and loving, always sticking to his principles. He was inspired by the books of Swami Vivekananda.
- Rishi earned his engineering degree under a scholarship program from the Indian government and later moved to Ottawa, Canada to pursue a master’s degree on a full scholarship from the Canadian government. Rishi is also a computer scientist and serves as a consultant to many departments of the Canadian government. Later, he obtained Canadian citizenship.
- In July 1974, Rishi’s teacher, Elizabeth Morrison, introduced him to Transcendental Meditation, founded by spiritual leader Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Rishi was fascinated by the phenomenon and began to meditate more intensely.
- In the same year, he started working as an international director at Maharishi’s headquarters in Switzerland, where he worked for two years.
- In 1971-1972, he returned to India from Switzerland and traveled for several months.
- He has served on the board of directors of the Elijah Institute for Religion’s Member of World Religions.
- Rishi then turned to his childhood guru Sri Bhagawan Visweswariah in Bangalore and meditated under his guidance to complete the Siddha Samadhi Yoga (SSY) program Rishi founded in 1977.

- The SSY movement has global reach in UAE cities such as Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi; Toronto and Ottawa, Canada; Tokyo, Japan; Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York in the US. SSY is also active in Australia, Singapore, Kenya and Brazil.
- Around 1980, Rishi attended a training called EST by Werner Erhard in California. According to his official website, this training was a turning point in his life, and he learned a lot from Werner’s EST training and Robert Fritz’s DMA training.
- From 1981 to 1983, Prabhakar engaged in advanced initiation training, which he called “Samadhi in action”.
- In 1982, Prabhakar founded the non-profit organization Rishi Samskruti Vidya Kendra (RSVK) with his mother and a few others. This charitable trust is registered under the laws of India and is dedicated to working for the welfare and dynamic development of humanity and society.
- The organization operates in cities such as Bangalore, Pune and Mumbai in India, as well as in countries such as Canada, Japan and the United Arab Emirates.
- Rishi also introduces the Rapid Comprehension and Review Technique (RCRT), a science-backed student self-study technique that makes learning flexible and easy. Taking the concept further, Rishi’s son Siddhant and his mother Arundhati Ma launched Digital RCRT in 2020, an e-learning platform that serves the same purpose.
- Guruji has also worked for children’s education by establishing many pre-schools, Rishi Gurukulams and universities in Bangalore, Visakhapatnam and Pune.
- Rishi Gurukulam, located in Katarkhadak Hills, Pune, was founded by Manoj Lekhi, the principal disciple of Guruji Rishi Prabhakar and the Chief Administrative Officer of Rishi Samskriti Vidya Kendra (RSVK).
- Rishi Prabhakar is the guru of another famous Indian spiritualist, Jaggi Vasudev (Sadhguru), and taught him Siddha Samadhi Yoga in 1984. The two reportedly split after some disagreements and Vasudev later renamed Siddha Samadhi Yoga Isha Yoga.
- Rishi lives a simple life with no bank accounts, personal possessions or money.
- Around the late 1980s, Guruj launched the “Clean India Campaign” project under RSVK, which has been adopted by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the Swachh Bharat Mission. SSY volunteers also helped Anna Hazare develop 300 demonstration villages through water management technology and social reform.
- In 1986, Rishi’s RSVK organization started The Fun Club International in Davangarh, Karnataka, and has now expanded to various centres.
- In 1987, Rishi felt he had done his job of attaining complete self-sufficiency through light meditation and entered into a period of joyous celebration.
- Rishi moved to Pondicherry (now Pondicherry) with his wife and son in 2004 and lived in the United Territory of India for about 7 years. The family then moved to Pune, Maharashtra.
- In Pondicherry, Prabhakar developed the famous Kaya Kalp Kriya (KKK) program, also known as Yog Samruddhi Sadhana (YSS) or Life Longevity Program (LLP). The program claims to reverse the aging process and cure all diseases to help people live healthy, young and long lives.

- Guru Rishi was suspected of having cancer in early 2013 and was ruled out after a physical diagnosis; however, after thorough testing in India and abroad, Guru Rishi was reported to have no cancer; it is a condition called aplastic anemia .
- In 2014, Rishi’s family and disciples admitted him to Narayana Hospital in Bengaluru due to unwellness. The Guru is said to have let nature take its course, causing his body to degenerate into a natural process. As a result, he attained Mahasamādhi on 16th February at 6:26 am in Bangalore.
- Rishi Prabhakar’s wife Arundhati Ma has been married to him for 15 years and his estate is passed on to his son Siddhant Rishi Prabhakar.
- Siddhanth and his mother founded Rishi Prabhakar International Foundation, a non-profit company, in 2019. Rishi’s mother, Ramadevi Amma, passed away in 2021.
- Guruji was overseeing about 100 ashrams and 700 centers around the world during his Mahasamādhi era.
- On April 23, 2015, Rishi’s wife published a book dedicated to him called “Sacred Satsang: My Divine Encounter with Guruji Rishi Prabhakarji”.
