The plans for the European Premier League are dead and buried. Don’t let Florentino Perez tell you that.
But proposals to reform the league structure to benefit big men refuse to go away — and sun Already reporting a new one has been cooked.
The report says plans are underway to form a British Premier League that would include Scottish giants Celtic and Rangers.
Let’s see what the new league will look like and if it’s a good idea – or not!
Celtic’s proposal to join the English Premier League has once again caused their ugliness.
We’ve been attacking the greed and attitude of English football for years and then all of a sudden we’re running and joining them?
Joining would mean a fundamental change for Glasgow Celtic.

What will the Premier League look like?
The Suns claim it will be an 18-club league. That would create problems in itself and would mean four Premier League clubs would be eliminated along with the bathwater.
Another element of the proposal is a play-off between the top four at the end of the season, as they do in rugby league.
But this is only necessary because international rugby matches are played during the domestic season.
Top clubs don’t have their best players for most of each season, so it’s fairer to have them finish in the top four at the end of the regular season and then compete for trophies in May.
The report also claims that Prime Minister Boris Johnson will back plans for the English Premier League to block a second referendum on Scottish independence.

Is there any reason it would be a good idea?
The main reason why Scottish teams cannot compete financially with English teams is the huge disparity in broadcast fees.
Celtic and Rangers are huge clubs. If they can compete financially, they could attract players currently snapped up by smaller British teams.
The English Premier League will take them into that stratosphere.
For now, the Scottish giants are offering young players a chance to prove themselves in English football and European competition, before securing lucrative transfers elsewhere.
The wealth of this conglomerate will prevent that from happening.
Will Jonathan Woodgate, Rangers and Celtic beat Bournemouth? Yes, Jonathan, very comfortable with that.

It will also hit back at the perceived British arrogance, which has wafted around like a bad smell after the plans were reported.
Bournemouth manager Jonathan Woodgate doubts Celtic or Rangers will beat his champions. He seemed to forget that the Gers were mixed with the likes of Benfica and Galatasaray in the Europa League this season.

why it’s a bad idea
With English football torn apart by greed and self-serving this week, many Celtic and Rangers fans do not want to see their clubs go down the same path.
Leaving to join a new league would sell Scottish football down the river.
Both clubs have a proud history of being Scottish champions and that opportunity will no longer exist. This is not an easy task.
i really hope @CelticFC Get away from the “Premier League” as soon as possible.

The plans themselves don’t even sound particularly appealing. An 18-team league and a decider play-off?
It’s almost like this is another dream Threats gain influence, not something tangible.
Part of the reason for the collapse of the European Premier League is that it was so poorly conceived – and that’s exactly the result of those plans.
They will spark days of debate in which British pundits, who have never watched Scottish football, boldly claim that Celtic or Rangers will never be able to beat an average team from south of the border – before disappearing again.
By the way, is the football pyramid in England the place where you want to give your club to you these days?
A gluttonous and self-serving shithole where only a handful of clubs can sincerely say their bosses won’t threaten the nation’s football ecosystem for a £300m-a-year guarantee?
It’s not worth getting involved just to shut up Jonathan Woodgate.
