Tottenham have had an impressive season under Jose Mourinho, should the Spurs boss further strengthen his squad in the January transfer window? Sam Brooks looks at three players Spurs could target to boost their chances of winning their first league title in 60 years.
Things are starting to improve for Mourinho’s Spurs. After an underwhelming 2019/20 season, Tottenham have found their feet in the current season.
With Liverpool battling a biblical injury crisis and Manchester City appearing to be swimming in circles, the door is open for Tottenham to launch a title race.
But can they maintain the form they were in at the start of the season? A January addition will certainly help, given the tight domestic schedule and the Europa League, which will be a long and difficult one.
Tottenham Hotspur – three goals
Let’s take a look at three players Tottenham could bring in as they aim for a first league title since 1960-61.
Arcadius Milik
The Spurs were linked with Milik in the summer. In the end, they chose Carlos Vinicius.
In any case, the Brazilian striker wasn’t a complete loser. However, he has only been used in the Europa League and Mourinho is clearly not entirely convinced he can make a difference in the Premier League.

Milik has already proven himself in the Netherlands and Italy.according to TargetNapoli are now willing to sell the Polish striker for £13.5m.
At this price, the Spurs should make the move. Milik won’t be a starter due to Harry Kane’s goal. However, the same was the case at Napoli in previous seasons, where he still made a notable contribution from the bench.
If he can do the same at Tottenham, the club could lift some trophies.
Demarais Grey
Spurs have plenty of options on the wing, with Son Heung-min, Lucas Moura, Steven Bergwijn and Gareth Bale at their disposal.
However, only Son has proven himself indispensable this season. Grey can play on either wing and has shown his talent on numerous occasions in the top flight.

His contract at Leicester is set to expire in the summer, meaning Spurs could sense a free transfer is on the horizon.
At 24, it feels like Gray has yet to reach his great potential. Joining Tottenham could be the fresh start he needs and see him take his game to the next level.
Milanskriniar
Skriniar was regarded as one of the brightest defenders in Serie A in his first season at Inter.
His star may not shine as brightly now, but there’s no doubt he’s still a great defender when he’s at his best.
The Slovakian centre-back has struggled to adapt to Antonio Conte’s back three. However, this will not be an issue at Tottenham as Mourinho strictly sticks to a back four.

First-choice centre-back duo Toby Alderweireld and Eric Dier have done well so far. However, the depth power of the field is impressive.
Joe Rodon and Japhet Tanganga are still young prospects, while Davinson Sanchez fails to convince and may play when given the chance his way out.
Skriniar adds experience and quality. He could also put pressure on the aging Alderweireld to take a position on the wing.
