Make a Wish: Why It’s One of the Worst Horror Movies of the Last Decade
π©π€π
In the summer of 2017, there was a horror movie that was disliked by many critics and fans, making it to many worst lists. The function turned out to be make a wish Claire, a 17-year-old girl starring Joy King, retrieves an old music box from her father. The old music box is capable of fulfilling seven wishes, and Claire’s life begins to improve with each wish. However, those wishes are dashed when those closest to her die in horrific and violent ways. Now, the “be careful what you want” type of premise is nothing new.from death dream arrive wish or popular anime Death Note, the wish-wrong theme has been abused in many different ways.or in Death Note, hopefully spelling someone else’s doom.Still, the old gimmick has some fun, but unfortunately, that fun is make a wish.
The film provides the main character with a generally bullied storyline, so audiences are immediately drawn to Claire Shannon. One of the main problems is that the filmmakers don’t understand that a bullied character doesn’t mean they’re a likable person. In many cases, the bully’s differences can cause them to empathize, such as his/her life is miserable, so they take their frustration out on others. Or, if a bully is bullying a gay student, it could be the fact that he/she is gay himself and thus the reason for bullying that particular existence. Claire is not a good person. In fact, as the film progresses, Claire actually becomes a scary person. In the beginning, you understand her frustrations, and when her bully suffers the fate of one of those wishes, you agree. The point is that Claire never feels sorry for anything she does. The bullying Claire experienced was nothing more than elementary school tactics, so the desire for death or harm was a bit extreme. Once her bullies rot, Claire will never feel sympathy. To make matters worse, when Claire finally understands that the box is killing these people, she still keeps making wishes.
It’s actually an interesting moral, and the movie can have fun with it. A good girl who abuses her power and then ends up suffering the ultimate consequences could be a rich storyline for Joy King. Her darkest desires cloud her judgement, possibly turning her into a big villain with a strong complex that is rarely seen in many horror movies. But the movie never goes in that direction. Although Claire has been abusing her power without remorse, she should come across as sympathetic, and the ending should be tragic, because even if Claire fixes the problem, she will still die. Oh, and I can’t let Claire’s ridiculous and horrific death sequence go unnoticed. The setting for this scene is ridiculously bad.She took off from the pounding of a slow-moving truck, feeling like she was right Fast and Furious 6 The scene is Dom saving Letty.the difference lies in quickly The franchise understands how ridiculous and exaggerated their action sequences are. make a wish certainly not. Horrible performances and an astonishing lack of blood to have that effect, and the horrific situation continues. The point of this scene is that Claire finally gets what she deserves because she makes a regrettable choice. Her wishes are childish and extremely selfish. One of them is forcing high school dudes to fall in love with her. That wish alone has a lot to say.ok ok the story and characters are bad but make a wish Some could be salvaged with some cool death sequences. The problem is it’s a PG-13 movie, so the movie doesn’t really have fun with it final destination death of style. When part of your movie’s sales are teen deaths, then creative and cool killing should be essential. make a wish not a psychological trait ring nor a quiet place or CloverfieldSince death is not entertaining, you’re watching the tragic struggle of a character full of tedious or annoying characters, and an episode that doesn’t know how to have fun in its premise. make a wish Could have been fun.To be fair, this is from the director Annabelle and Mortal Kombat: Annihilationso it should come as no surprise that the film turned out badly.
