Newcastle manager Steve Bruce has confirmed reports of a training ground clash between him and Matt Ridge.
Bruce carried out his pre-match press conference Before the game against West Brom.
He said: “Yes, I did have an argument or an argument with a player and the rest is nonsense. We have to draw a line under it and move on.”
“There’s a source feeding stuff. That’s the most disappointing thing. We’re looking into it to find the culprit. That doesn’t happen at other clubs.”

Some Newcastle fans on Twitter took issue with Bruce, saying the “most disappointing thing” was a leak inside the camp.
They would rather focus on results, football style or team harmony.
This led to quite a few supporters speaking out shortly after Bruce’s comments.
Here’s what the Blues had to say ahead of the massive relegation clash at the Hawthorns:
So it’s not that he’s trying to get into a fight with his own players that’s disappointing, but the fact that the fans found out?

I’d rather he spend his time running the team, training the players properly on a regular basis, listening to his sports scientists to better reduce/manage injuries, and generally being a competent head coach. That way, there’s nothing worth leaking. #nufc

More concerned with finding grass than not fighting your own players 🧐

Strangely, I think the most important thing is that he fights with team members? But it’s just me.

So, let’s do it right, he’s more disappointed that it was leaked than that the bankruptcy actually happened?
— Michael Rowan (@Michael_Rowan9) March 5, 2021
Surely missing the point?

So the main issue here is not that he fell out with a player…but leaked to the public? 🥴

He should be trying to downplay that and focus on a big game this Sunday, but instead he fueled the fire?

Defensive hole should be the most disappointing one

Haha want to divert attention?
