The former Saints and Chargers quarterback is enjoying his new role on American Soccer Nights. However, did Drew Brees replace Rodney Harrison on the show? This is a shuffling of the explanation.
US Soccer Nights revamped for 2021 season
Football Night in America (FNIA) has changed dramatically ahead of the 2021 NFL regular season.
At the end of August, it was announced that Drew Brees and Maria Taylor would be on the Sunday Night Show.
Maria Taylor will co-host FNIA and is often at Studio 1 alongside former NFL quarterback Chris Sims.
They will provide an in-depth analysis of the most important moments of the day.
Brees sat at the main table with host Mike Tirico and Super Bowl-winning head coach Tony Dungey.
Liam McHugh is no longer part of the lineup.

Did Drew Brees replace Rodney Harrison?
13-time Pro bowler Drew Brees transitioned to NBC in March.
The network revealed that the former Saints and Chargers quarterback had been named to FNIA and the network’s coverage of Notre Dame football.
“I’m excited about that journey,” Brees said at the time. “I’m very happy to have a strong connection to football. It’s such an important part of my life. I can keep talking about it and show passion for it.”
Brees served as the show’s studio analyst during halftime. He currently flies weekly to the NBC studio in Connecticut and will watch and comment on all Sunday nights on Sunday night.
“We are delighted to have Drew on our team,” said Pete Bevacqua, chairman of NBC Sports Group. via NBC press release.
“We know Drew will approach everything he touches at NBC Sports with the same work ethic and continued positivity, and we know he’ll make us better as his new teammate.”
Some fans wondered if that meant Drew Brees had replaced Rodney Harrison, but it didn’t.

So where is Rodney Harrison now?
Drew Brees didn’t replace Rodney Harrison per se, but Harrison’s role has changed.
The two-time Super Bowl champion has spent the past 12 seasons at the FNIA studio.
However, he now joins co-host Jac Collinsworth at SNF every week.
He’s there to capture crowd excitement, provide on-site analysis, and conduct player interviews.
“It’s been interesting to be able to connect with players and ask them about details that I noticed or was curious about as a former player,” Harrison told Boston Net
“I’m in my own element, my natural element – that is on the football pitch, around players, coaches, fans.”
