Who is Amelia Earhart?
Amelia Earhart was a famous trailblazer, best known as the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic in 1932.
Born in Acheson, Kansas, on July 24, 1897, the pilot set a string of records in defiance of norms that hindered women’s movement in society throughout her life.

In 1935, Earhart was the first woman to fly solo nonstop to the continental United States, the first person to fly solo from Hawaii to the continental United States, and the first woman to fly more than 14,000 feet solo.
How did Amelia Earhart die?
It was her exploits in the cockpit that won her admirers and made her famous. That’s how Earhart eventually met her.
In July 1937, her plane went missing while trying to break another record, this time becoming the first-ever pilot to circumnavigate the globe, and she was pronounced dead in absentia a year and a half later.
On June 1, 1937, Earhart sailed around the world on an eastbound flight, leaving Oakland, California. This is her second attempt at the journey.
Navigator Fred Noonan accompanied her on the trip. They flew 22,000 miles to Lae, New Guinea—just 7,000 miles from Oakland.
Somewhere in the Pacific Ocean between Lae and Little Howland Island, the couple lost contact with a U.S. Coast Guard ship and went missing.
Has Amelia Earhart been found?
After the disappearance of Amelia Earhart and Fred Noonan, President Franklin D. Roosevelt approved a two-week search for the couple, to no avail. The official conclusion of the investigation is that they sank into the Pacific Ocean after the crash.
Several subsequent attempts to find Amelia Earhart, both failed. also had several theories As for what happened, from suspended animation to aliens.

One theory is that Earhart and Noonan never found Howland and went to another island called Nikumaroro.
The theory is that the couple landed here when the tide receded and then came back to wash away or damage their plane – making them outcasts.
Another version is that Earhart and Noonan, who could not find Howland, headed north to the Japanese-held Marshall Islands, where they were taken hostage by the Japanese, possibly as American spies.
Their remains or the wreckage of Amelia Earhart’s plane have never been found, but that hasn’t stopped people from searching for them.
