On Saturday, July 31, WWE announced that they were releasing Bray Wyatt from his contract.
“WWE has reached an agreement for the release of Bray Wyatt,” WWE wrote in a post statement on its website.

The 34-year-old hasn’t appeared in WWE since Raw at WrestleMania 37 in April.
Wyatt had lost to Randy Orton at WrestleMania the night before.
Rumors about Bray Wyatt’s mental health a reason for his release
Following the announcement, it was rumoured that Wyatt had asked to be released to focus on his mental health.
As early as May, there were already speculation Wrestlers suffer from mental health issues.
Bill Batty and former WWE writer Vince Russo spoke On Nitty Gritty Dirt Sheet (h/t wrestling-edge.com) and Bill talked about why Wyatt disappeared.
“He’s going through some mental health issues right now. He wanted to take time off. When he agreed to return, he got an immediate enthusiasm from Vince. So, he was like ‘Okay, I don’t even want to come back’.”
However, the aggressive choice (mania) shared some thoughts on Wyatt. The backstage performers didn’t see anything that worried them, and Wyatt was fine, the report said.
“We have a lot of talent on the WWE roster saying they’ve seen him a few times and he looks good,” he said.

So was Wyatt released because of mental health issues?
No, the rumors about Wyatt’s mental health problems don’t appear to be confirmed.
An official report confirmed this, citing another reason for Wyatt’s release.
Dave Meltzer Wrestling Observer reported that Wyatt said Budget cuts were the reason for Wyatt’s release.
Meltzer added that Wyatt was preparing to return to the WWE show this August before his release.
