Long-standing power couple Jack and Jennifer embark on yet another adventure, and this time it looks like they can leave Salem for good. Heartthrobs are moving from Salem to Boston to pursue their dream of running a small newspaper. and start a new chapter in their lives.

Jennifer won’t be in Salem for now, as the actress who played her, Melissa Reeves, only reprised her role as Jennifer for a short time. We’ve seen her onscreen throughout the Christmas break, but Reeves won’t be a regular due to the coronavirus pandemic, as she decides not to commute to her studio in Los Angeles. Reeves lives in Nashville, so he has to travel long distances to get to work every day.
Joining Jennifer is her husband Jack as they venture into their new chapter. Of course, they will no doubt return to Salem in the future as the show comes and goes. They still have to keep an eye on their daughters Abigail and Gwen.
Jennifer’s Days in Our Lives Explore
Melissa first appeared in “Days of Us” in 1985 as Jennifer, who was 18 when she first took on the role. In 1995, she abruptly left the role on the show’s thirtieth anniversary and did not appear on the show for nearly four years.
However, she returned to the show in 2010 for a month-long cameo appearance and later became a full-fledged member of the crew. When the coronavirus pandemic hit, she decided to quit the show in 2020, but then made a quick comeback.
Exploring Jack’s Appearance in Days of Us
Jack was introduced in 1987, played by Joseph Adams and James Acheson, before Matthew Ashford took over the role in October 1987. The role was reprised twice as the years passed, with Ashford temporarily stepping away from the role to take his place with Mark Valley and Steve Wilder.
Ashford’s longest absence from soap was between 2012 and 2018, when Jack was presumed dead after falling from an elevator shaft. However, Ashford is in charge again in 2019 until his latest exit in early 2022.
